In an interview on the H3 Podcast Poarch told interviewers that her maternal grandmother had took care of her in the slums up until when she was 3 years old. Kenneth Taylor was an American and Eden Taylor, his wife, adopted the name of Poarch. Poarch claimed that she was employed on her family's farm for 10 years, and also did chores. She is the older of two older siblings who have been adopted as well as an older brother Bryner. Her family moved to the United States in Texas when she was 13 witht the exception of her two older sisters who remained within the Phillipines.
